Our special blend of Zeolite + Sacred Clay (pyrophyllite) acts as a powerful alchemical agent, promoting the transformation and transmission of electromagnetic energy in your mouth as well as your whole body! These special clays polish and re-mineralize your teeth, absorb toxins (heavy metals, viruses, bacteria and parasites), alkalinize your pH and work synergistically with the essential oils to eliminate plaque and cavities while nourishing your overall health! Now, how many toothpastes can boast that?

Our toothpaste is used quite differently, too. This toothpaste is supposed to be swallowed! Just think of it like taking a twice daily supplement to not only detox your teeth and mouth, but your whole body!

Detox Toothpaste does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, artificial colors or sweeteners, harsh abrasives, dehydrating salt or vegetable glycerin which coats teeth and interferes with proper re-mineralization from the food you eat. Your teeth will become whiter and brighter, your mouth will feel cleaner and healthier and you will feel good knowing that you are doing the best for your whole body. You'll be amazed at the results!

If you have sensitive teeth or mouth, or would just like a variation in your routine, try our Toothsoap. Amazing Zeolite and Sacred Clay

Most clays are formed from volcanic ash that has fallen from the atmosphere, weathers and is collected as sediment. Over time, plant and animal remains as well as other forms of organic and inorganic material add to the mix and decompose to form these organic clays, such as bentonite, montmorillonite, pascalite, illite or French Green. Zeolite and Pyrophyllite (Sacred Clay) are different. They were formed underground, beginning as a boiling lava soup, and eventually cooling due to the interaction with underground aquifer water. The combination of immense underground pressures and steam from contact with the aquifer waters caused the molten rock to transform into these amazing clays. The electromagnetic (detox) properties seem to have been retained to a greater extent compared to the lava ash clays. Zeolite and Sacred Clay work at the cellular level by trapping heavy metals and toxins and safely removing them from the body. Zeolite is very effective in removing radiation, as shown in the cleanup after the Chernobyl nuclear accident. The people showed a 30% reduction in radioactive isotopes after the very first application of Zeolite! Continued use demonstrated increased benefits. The actual Clinoptilolite Zeolite molecule is shaped like a honey-comb and carries a natural negative charge. When this type of Zeolite is ingested into the body, all of the positively charged heavy metals, toxins, and harmful chemicals (mercury, lead, aluminum, arsenic, pesticides, petroleum compounds, commercial and industrial chemicals and radiation) are trapped within the cage-like structure of the Zeoplite and are safely flushed out through the urine within 6-8 hours. Pyrophyllite is also a potent detoxifier though works a bit differently than Zeolite. It is both an adsorbing and an absorbing clay with a donut-shaped combination of tetrahedral molecules mimicking the shape of a red blood cell. The geometric shape of a red blood cell is the most efficient shape known for the absorbtion of nutrients. Pyrophyllite is also capable of holding toxins to the outside of its molecular structure like iron filings to a magnet, as well as absorb them like a sponge. Pyrophyllite's exceptionally high negative electro-magnetic charge reaches deep into the tissues and organs to draw toxins to itself. And due to its morphous silica content, essential for making nutrients bioavailable, pyrophyllite is also an exceptional nutritional source for bioavailable macro minerals, trace minerals and angstrom elements. Whether used externally or internally, Zeolite and Pyrophyllite clays are the most powerful detoxifiers and re-mineralizers. According to Ran Knishinsky – The Clay Cure - Natural Healing from the Earth, clay works on the entire organism. No part of our body is left untouched by its healing powers. We use only the highest quality, purest and finest mesh Zeolite available for internal use. To purchase the pure powder we use in our Detox Toothpaste, visit our What's New page HERE.

The Essential Nature of Essential Oils

In the book Beyond Antibiotics, Michael Schmidt devotes an entire chapter to the antimicrobial efficacy of essential oils, and states, “One of the advantages essential oils have over antibiotics is that bacteria do not develop resistance to essential oils. Many essential oils exert their antibacterial effect by interfering with the bacteria’s ability to breathe. On the other hand, antibiotics interfere with the life cycle, or metabolism of, bacteria, but since bacteria are very crafty creatures, they change their chemistry and genes, which makes the antibiotic less effective the next time it is used. As a result, new generations of antibiotics will need to be developed to stay ahead of these organisms. Additionally says Schmidt, “another advantage to essential oils is that some actually stimulate immune function.” Pure essential oils address the prerequisites of a compromised immune system, including destructive bacterial overgrowth, viral loads, chronic inflammation and a congested lymph system without causing antibiotic resistance.  Essential oils contain the "essence" of the plant and are highly concentrated. Sometimes a whole plant is required to create one drop of oil! The very small molecular size and distinctive structure allows them to penetrate the gums and benefit the immune system. They send nutrients to the blood vessels and molecules, and stimulate the dentine, nerves and roots of the teeth while they improve the circulation of the blood and lymph . Botanicals such as seabuckthorn CO2 also help to regenerate gum tissue. Essential oils are also potent antioxidants.Essential oils are also potent in Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity, or ORAC, and have been found to be among some of the most powerful antioxidants. Clove and cinnamon are very high in these ORAC ratings, and are impressive in eliminating bacteria. Some essential oils reduce inflammation, while others have an antibacterial effect or an antiseptic one. Many essential oils contain a combination of these wonderful helpful properties. In addition, the synergistic effect of the combined botanicals is a thousand-fold! Each oil has hundreds of botanical chemical components that work synergistically. Each of the botanical species in our formula is carefully selected for their individual and synergistic effects that improve and maintain gum and oral health. The combination of antibacterial, astringent, circulatory and analgesic essential oils create a superior environment for healthy gums and teeth.

The Wonders of Xylitol

Xylitol has been shown to inhibit plaque formation,  improve breath odor, retard loss of tooth enamel, reduce infections in the mouth and nasopharynx, and relieve dry mouth. It is safe for diabetics and hypoglycemics. Xylitol does not encourage growth of yeast, including Candida albicans. In contrast to ordinary sugar, xylitol increases the absorption of B-vitamins and calcium.  Xylitol has been shown to have the opposite effect of sugar on oral health. Xylitol is non-fermentable and therefore cannot be converted to acids by oral bacteria, thus it helps to restore a proper alkaline/acid balance in the mouth. This alkaline environment is inhospitable to all the destructive bacteria, especially the worst variety, Streptococcus mutans.

A Note for Use With Animals:  Like chocolate, xylitol is toxic to dogs and cats - we are happy to make this soap without xylitol upon request. Just leave a note in the comment section of the shopping cart.

Most commercial toothpaste have ingredients such as glycerin, SLS (Sodium lauryl sulphate), fluoride, sodium saccharin, artificial color and more. Let's find out what these ingredients really are:

This antimicrobial is found in many personal care and household products. Evidence has shown that this chemical inhibits muscle function in mice and fish from levels of usage comparable to that of regular household use. Other potential side effects of  include abnormalities with the endocrine system, birth defects and a weakening of the immune system.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

This detergent, emulsifier and foaming agent has a powerful stripping action that makes it popular in car "soap", engine degreaser and garage floor cleaners. It can degenerate cell membranes, change genetic information (mutagenic) in cells and damage the immune system. It is reported to cause eye irritation, skin rashes, hair loss, dandruff and allergic reactions. It penetrates your eyes, brain, liver and is cummulative.

Sodium Fluoride

This toxic ingredient has been linked it to cancer, but it is still allowed in many toothpastes and often recommended by dentists! It is especially dangerous for young children who tend to swallow the paste after brushing. Many toothpastes contain enough fluoride in a 4 oz tube to kill a small child! This is why many toothpaste manufacturers include a warning on their labels "Do not swallow. Not to use by children under the age of 6 years."  A report indicated that Fluorosis (fluoride poisoning) can result in darkened or mottled teeth, erosion of enamel, compromised bone structure and a host of other problems including learning disabilities, kidney disease and brain lesions.
(See also the article "Hidden Fluoride in our food", January 2002 issue, Alternative Medicine Magazine).

Artificial Sweeteners

Splenda, or sucralose, which have never been proven safe for human consumption, but remain rather a public health experiment! The FDA approved it after a mere 4 days of trial where only 23 adults actually ingested it.  The other studies were done on animals and revealed complications such as a decrease in red blood cells, increased male infertility, created spontaneous abortions as well as a 23% death rate increase.  Most of us know about the dangers of saccharin from the hazardous Aspartame family. Before 2001, any product containing saccharin had a warning label. This has since been lifted because after some industry testing, it was determined that saccharin only caused bladder cancer in rats.  Most researchers believe in sufficient doses, saccharin is a human carcinogen.

FD & C, Blue No. 1 + 2

These are often used to dye toothpastes blue for the illusion of fresh and clean. These coal tar (petroleum) derivatives have been known to trigger severe allergic reactions, asthma attacks and headaches in addition to being carcinogens that interfere with brain function. These dyes are teratogen or toxic and have been known to produce malignant tumors at the site of injection and by ingestion in rats. Even though toothpaste is technically not swallowed, the mucous membrane in the mouth have an absorption rate over 90 percent so these chemicals definitely do find their way into your bloodstream.

Calcium carbonate, chalk and baking soda can be used to clean teeth periodically, but if overused can abrade delicate gum tissue. In addition, overuse of sea salt can negatively affect oral health by dehydrating the mouth and gums.

Glycerin is found in almost all toothpastes, conventional and alternative. Its main function here is to keep the paste pliable. It also easily absorbs water from the surrounding air making it hygroscopic. If some was to be left in the open, it would absorb water from the surrounding air until the liquid was eventually 20% water. It can also be dehydrating when there is not sufficient moisture to draw from, therefore it is not healthy in the mouth. In the book, Good Teeth From Birth to Death by Dr. Gerard F. Judd, Ph.D., he states, "Reenamelization of the teeth occurs when they are clean. All toothpastes make a barrier of glycerine on the teeth which would require 20 rinses to get it off. In this we see that although glycerin is not toxic, it interferes with our saliva's natural function of re-mineralizing the enamel.
