apple + herb rebalancing rinse

This rinse is the best kept secret for soft, shiny, strong hair that’s full of natural body!

It’s the condition of the cuticle that determines how shiny and smooth your hair looks and feels. When the pH is lowered, the cuticle will flatten and light will reflect easily off its surface, giving you wonderfully smooth and shiny hair, and a healthier scalp, too.

Use this silica-rich rinse to remove mineral and product residue, lower the pH of the rinse water, protect your hair’s cuticle, lessen breakage and tangling, nourish and boost circulation of your scalp, and give your hair improved smoothness, strength, and amazing shine!

Apple cider vinegar has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties, from the malic acid (alpha hydroxy acid) it contains, which helps to balance the pH of the scalp and exfoliate the scalp. This has the potential to stimulate hair growth as well as help scalp itchiness. Dandruff is a result of buildup on the scalp that happens when too much yeast is present on oily areas of the skin. ACV lowers levels of yeast that promotes inflammation and flaking. Styling tools and products, as well as exposure to the elements, roughen our hair’s cuticle, causing hair to feel dull or prone to tangles. The acidic nature of ACV helps close and smooth the cuticle, making your hair more manageable and shiny, as well as prevent split ends and breakage. So, you can see how something as simple as adding apple cider vinegar to your hair care routine will help keep your scalp healthy and your hair looking its best!

Additional information

After shampooing and conditioning, pour 1 to 2 tablespoons of rinse into a shower cup and fill with warm water. Pour over hair and scalp and leave for a couple of minutes before rinsing briefly. For especially dry or curly hair, "soak" your hair with diluted rinse after shampooing and leave for a few minutes before applying your conditioner, then finish with a second vinegar and water rinse.

The "vinegar smell" will dissipate as soon as your hair dries… we promise!

When drying your hair, press into a towel rather than wringing or rubbing and allow to dry before styling to minimize stretching and breakage.
