instructions

Before your shower, devote five minutes to your hair. De-tangle, starting at the ends and working your way up to your scalp. Then focus on your scalp by brushing from all directions, slowly and steadily, to move the oils from your scalp into your hair.

The first time you use this brush, it may feel a bit stiff and rough… so brush gently until the bristles soften with use. Before long, you'll be craving this amazing feeling that an irregular-bristle brush gives! (If you'd like to make the process of bristle-softening go a little quicker, soak the bristles in a shallow dish of warm shampoo-soapy water for ten minutes, then give her an extra massage with conditioner and rinse. Lay brush bristle-down on a towel. When dry, massage your favorite oil over the wood for long-lasting beauty. There's no need to be rough back at the brush, a gentle wash and warm water is enough:)

This is also the process for cleaning your brush. Before soaking, though, remove hair from the cushion bed. After the wash and condition, use a comb to gently loosen and remove any buildup that may have developed, rinse and dry on a towel before applying the conditioning oil.

brushing ritual

A little intention can also be given to this hair ritual:

What are you ready to release?

As you brush, imagine the stagnant energy that may have built up around you moving effortlessly through your hair and into your brush. Each fallen hair that has released in your brush can bring with it something that you are ready to let go of in your life. What are you making room for when you let go? What would you LOVE to bring into your life? Brush all of these into your hair!
